Don't get me wrong, there are genuine depressed young people out there who have had real bad things happen to them like their parents die or they were sexually abused as children or they survived a terminal illness.

But most of these EMOtional youths claim to be "depressed", and have no idea what that really means.

Emo is really a type of kids, 'emo'tional. It's a style of music. Kids who are 'deep' and like to think of themselves as unique. They are kind of goth. Wearing dark clothes.
