i think it honestly sounds like your doing this to fit in. high school is a b**** for labeling people but I think it's people like you who label themselves. I think you should just buy what you think is cool. Dont buy what you think the emo crowd will like.

first of all i just wanna say i'm not "emo" and i don't know a ton about it, nor do i care to.
even though you say you're not trying to fit in and that you just like it, i think you just want to impress people. if it was really your style you wouldn't need approval or ask if people would hang out with you if you looked that way. you're just being textbook by getting the basics of that style, which is boring and stupid. why not wear whatever you want and ignore the labels and trends. all of that stuff is so boring and overdone anyway

How about you go with your own personal style? Or do you just want people to like you because you're "emo"? Even then, you shouldn't like them because you're so "sad at the world that you don't want any friends."
Personally, I would try to improve your education instead of trying to be cool at school. Maybe if you do, your spelling and typing skills will improve.

Well first of all, being "emo" is following a certain style of music called emotional.. bands such as My Chemical Romance and Dashboard Confessional are labeled as "emo" bands.
Also, with that sort of style, not only are you labeled as "emo," but you're labeled as depressed, maniac, sad, pathetics, and a lot of other names that you probably aren't. So I think you might need to watch where you step because jumping so quickly.
I was personally an emo kid myself, and I never felt good about it. People would constantly taunt me and give me a hard time, so I'm not sure you want to start high school trying to be something you naturally aren't.
A lot of people, by the way, that have your sense of style, can be labeled as artsy or punk or gothic too.
Anyways, if you're going for emo, then you got it by your list. A good site to look at for "emo" stuff is hottopic.com. And a lot of people have things for emo guys, you don't have to necessarily be emo.
My only advice, seeing as how I'm in college and I past this stage and many other, is that you look inside yourself and find who you TRULY want to be, which should be effortlessly. Don't worry about what others do, think, or say, because at the end of the day, you're in sleeping your body, and people disappear quickly, but you'll never disappear from yourself.

First of all, you're going to look like an idiot that tries too damn hard. "Emo", "Scene", and/or "Hardcore" "styles" are ridiculous. It does NOT make you cool. I don't get the obsession with kids and this whole thing. Second of all, stop listening to gay a ss bands like Saosin and Atreyu because they suck. Listen to real music, e.g. Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah, Daath, Dying Fetus, etc. Those bands are what your music is trying to be. I'm 17, so I know what kids are doing nowadays. The only reason that it is "cool" is because it's getting more and more accepted amongst your peers, not because you kids REALLY like it. What's actually "cool" is to be yourself. What happened to originality? Stop whoring yourself around trying to look like other people. It's quite sad, honestly. When you look back 10 years from now, you're going to realize how dumb you looked. Thank me now and cut the s hit.
