ive dressed gothic for 3 years. recently ive been wearing tighter but not skin tight pants with zippers, buckles and such. i wear dark military style jackets, paint my nails, have hair that looks like criss angel's hair with the red highlights. people are starting to call me emo but i dont think they're right. what do you think? what seperates the two?
What seperates emo from goth?
I say, who cares?!
You are what you want to be.
The face of the gothic undercurrent is changing, and it will be difficult to deny the emo kids forever. Once upon a time, the eldergoths wanted to exclude the kindergoths because the young ones liked that upstart one-man-band NIN (ninnies) and didn't know Eva O from Eva-001. Now the whole (sub)culture is more accepting of our "babybats", but we're not sure what to make of those Emos, who scream, "We are NOT GOTH!!!1!" from behind their asymmetrical fringe-bangs...
Do we forget so easily the first rule?
There is nothing that proves you're a goth better than denying you're a goth! They'll come around, even if they just settle on being called "darksiders" like all the old-time NOT-goths.
You? You'll be okay.
Keep having fun, and forget what anyone else says.
What seperates emo from goth?
Emos are fake little poser teenagers who cry about their lives, dye their hair a billion colors and think they look cute. They care more about their appearance than anything. Emos are stupid. Goth is the real thing.
What seperates emo from goth?
emo mean emotional and their teens that basicly whine alot and some are really HOTT!
but also emo can mean cutting ur writs begging for attintion
What seperates emo from goth?
i dislike emo and gothic people.
Why do you want to kill yourself, and wear black.
when you can live your fxcking life and be bright?
閳?br>What seperates emo from goth?
True goth is mostly dead nowadays, it's pretty much merged into "emo", and either way it's just a bunch of whiny kids trying to be "unique" by looking as equally freakish as all their friends do. You could really make a statement by looking NORMAL for a change.
TRUE goth was a European movement of INTELLIGENCE and STYLE, the original goths were lovers of literature and art and history, not kids who wear makeup that looks like they've been punched in the face, whose skin looks like pin cushions, who cry about how much life sucks for them. That's called pathetic. Very few people in this day and age follow the true gothic movement, not matter what they call themselves.
What seperates emo from goth?
well emo people who are really emotional and cut themselves sometimes.
EMO = Subdivision of Goth
GOTH = Subdivison of Punk
What seperates emo from goth?
Emo teens are the teenagers that are emotional.Goth teens are like....scary.The similarities between the two are both goth and emo wear black,hate their lives and wear those piercings.I think their differences that emo people are like they are depressed and the goth teens are indifferent and they almost hate everything.Emo teens are like they cut themselves for attention.
What seperates emo from goth?
Emo, as we know it now, is not goth. It is not related to goth in any other way aside from being a subculture. The emo subculture is about black-framed glasses, black hoodies, and bands that write nothing but whiny music. Oh, and angst. Lots of angst. And bad poetry.
Goths have a higher sense of culture, if you meet a real goth and not an emo or a poser. Goth is more closely related to the late 19th century than anything: lots of poetry, lots of corsets, lots of elegance.
Even so, all goths are not depressed or indifferent. I've met some perfectly happy goths that simply like wearing dark or saturated colors.
Goth doesn't mean wearing all black. I've met goths who wear red purple, silver, green, or blue. They like rich, jewel-toned colors with their black. I've even met a few that love wearing white!
In summary, emos lack the elegance and sophistication of the gothic movement. And for reference purposes, My Chemical Romance isn't emo. It's not quite goth, but it's as close as mainstream music has gotten to it since the Cure.
